Launching Pact for Equality

Avocats Sans Frontières, European Alternatives, and a consortium of civil society and university partners are launching Pact For Equality on 22 May with a webinar. The MEPs pledge will be presented, and the importance of addressing discrimination and structural racism discussed.

As the European elections near, marginalised groups continue to face hate speech and scapegoating, reflecting systemic discrimination in society and politics. Despite EU efforts, discrimination remains widespread and increasing, particularly against Roma, racialised individuals, and the LGBTQIA+ community, as highlighted by Eurobarometer survey 535.

Pact for Equality is an initiative dedicated to promoting equality and combating discrimination against migrant communities in Europe to ensure that Europe’s approach to diversity is transformed during this crucial electoral year and beyond.
