Il progetto “Co-Creation” è un progetto di ricerca quadriennale guidato dalla Dott.ssa Juliet Carpenter, Senior Research Fellow, e finanziato dalla Commissione Europea, in collaborazione con organizzazioni di tutta l’UE e dell’America Latina.
Il progetto mira ad affrontare lo svantaggio urbano e la stigmatizzazione del territorio, riunendo diversi attori come ricercatori, politici, residenti e artisti, per “co-creare” la comprensione dei quartieri emarginati e per affrontare lo svantaggio.
Nell’arco di quattro anni, il progetto gestisce una serie di eventi internazionali, tra cui cinque Conferenze Internazionali, due Scuole Estive, workshop con gli stakeholder e sette casi di studio nelle città partner con la partecipazione di comunità locali e artisti. Il primo evento di networking si è tenuto presso la Oxford Brookes University il 16-18 gennaio 2017, con un incontro di lancio di tre giorni, in cui tutti i partner hanno contribuito alle discussioni sul progetto e sul suo sviluppo nei prossimi anni. Il prossimo evento, una conferenza sul ruolo della creatività nella sfida all’esclusione, è stato ospitato dall’Università di Bath nel settembre 2017. La dott.ssa Christina Horvath, leader del team organizzativo, ha dichiarato: “La stigmatizzazione territoriale colpisce i residenti dei quartieri emarginati di tutto il mondo. Esplorare il funzionamento della creatività è il primo passo per costruire capacità e consentire ai residenti di migliorare la propria autostima e le opportunità di vita”.
