London – 9 December – European Citizens’ Initiative seminar
THE EUROPEAN CITIZENS’ INITIATIVE – WHERE DO WE STAND ?
A major innovation of the EU Treaty of Lisbon allowing one million citizens from a significant number of EU Member States to ask the European Commission to propose new legislation, allowing citizens the direct right to influence the EU’s legislative agenda. We will present the idea of European campaigning, and present two Initiatives we are currently working on – one on media pluralism and one on gay rights in Europe.
