What is Democracy Worth?
The future of democracy in Europe depends on strategic investment in its defense and innovation. As the EU’s budget discussions unfold, it is essential to prioritize funding for democratic institutions, the innovation of democratic processes, and the support of participatory democracy mechanisms and broader civil society. This event will explore these crucial areas and discuss how the EU can better safeguard and strengthen democracy in the coming years.
This event is hosted by Member of European Parliament Raquel Garcia Hermida van der Walle (Renew).
Co-panelists include Members of European Parliament Brando Benifei (S&D), Damian Boeselager (Greens), and Rene Repasi (S&D).
The event will be held at the European Parliament, Room SPINELLI 5G365, on 15 May 2025 from 11:00 to 12:30. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
