On 7 May 2025, the Democratic Odyssey hosted an online feedback session, bringing together over 500 participants from 25 countries across Europe. This event marked a pivotal moment in the journey toward a transnational Citizens’ Assembly for Europe.
The session aimed to:
- Share progress between the Florence and Vienna assemblies;
- Present emerging recommendations and proposals to a wider public;
- Collect feedback from Members of the European Parliament, civil society actors, and citizens;
- Refine the Citizens’ Charter through collective deliberation.
Key voices included:
- Brando Benifei (Member of the European Parliament), calling for a permanent European Citizens’ Assembly;
- Alexandrina Najmowicz (European Civic Forum), emphasising the critical role of civil society;
- Richard Youngs (Carnegie Europe), reflecting on geopolitical and security concerns facing the continent.
The session closed with collaborative working groups made up of assembly members, focusing on finalising proposals for the presentation of the Citizens’ Charter in Vienna.
