Speak Out: Empowering Youth for Change

In today’s challenging times, young people play a crucial role in defending democracy and fostering inclusive societies. European Alternatives, in partnership with the Erasmus Student Network, is proud to offer dynamic tools, skills, and networks to empower young voices to take action against discrimination, prejudice, and misinformation.

Young People at the Forefront of Defending Democracy

European Alternatives and Erasmus Student Network have launched a series of four open webinars, designed to train and inspire young change-makers, that took place in February and March 2025. These sessions provided valuable insights into tackling pressing issues such as underrepresentation, leveraging local and EU-level action, analysing policies and stakeholders, and crafting impactful messages for recruitment and advocacy.

  1. Discrimination and How to Act Against It (18/2): Theoretical elements behind discrimination and inequality, and data-backed ways to tackle structural issues in our societies.
  2. Building Bridges: Activating levers of influence (25/2): Impacting the policy cycle, problem & solution analysis, and case study from Aleanca LGBTI.
  3. How to organise your community to build power (4/3): Community-based organising; Team-building and recruitment (delivered by Jasper Schut)
  4. Advocate! Plan your campaign (11/3): Stakeholder analysis; Engagement strategies; Message design, and case study from the My Voice My Choice campaign.

Activities are planned, from in-person trainings at the Erasmus Generation Meeting (Ancona, 4th April, 2025) or at the Transeuropa Festival (5th to 8th June, 2025), conferences and networking events.
