DDC Assembly 2: From Smart City to the City as a Public Good

Labeled the silicon valley of Eastern Europe, Cluj has been in the process of of urban renewal with the creations of ‘smart roads’, ‘smart buses’, and ‘smart villages’. This has been at the cost of the eviction of many in social housing, disproportionately targeting roma communities.

In this assembly we will discuss what it means to be a ‘smart city’, how we can transform the city into a public good, accessible to all, and how technology could serve this.
