About

How do we build a city that meets everyone's needs? That is, a city as a public good.

Through what demands do we want to assert our right to the city in the digital era?

How are our rights to housing, to work without exploitation, to a green and clean environment linked to digital justice and to the exercise of the right to take part in the city's administration?

Make the connections between the demands that resulted from the collaborative work of the participants in the People's Assembly "From smart city to city as public good". The assembly was organized by the Desire Foundation on June 6, 2026, within the international Democratic Digital Commons project, initiated and coordinated by European Alternatives. These demands inspire our Manifesto for the Right to the City in a Digital Era.

Born from the collective voices of the People's Assembly, this digital artwork transforms civic demands into an interactive virtual canvas. Initially appearing as isolated, unconnected points, each node contains a specific claim formulated by the inhabitants of Cluj. Because we all see our city through a different lens, the artwork does not impose predefined relationships between these ideas. Instead, you are the architect. By clicking, connecting, and grouping these dots, you are challenged to discover how these claims intersect, identify new priorities, and actively imagine the future of our shared urban space.

Then, we invite you to step outside the virtual space and, together with many others, take action to impose these demands on those who control the development of our city.
