A European residency exploring art, activism, climate and social justice<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palermo, Sicily \u2014 April 17\u201323, 202<\/strong>6<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across Europe and beyond, a new generation of young artists and activists are searching for ways to face climate and social crises with imagination and collective power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The School of Artivism<\/strong> is a residency designed for them \u2013 for you \u2013 to explore how creative practices can become tools for political action, community transformation, and ecological justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For one week in Palermo, a group of young artivists from across Europe will gather to learn, reflect, train, and build the foundations of future creative actions to fight for climate and social justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf0d Who Can Apply?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We welcome young people aged 20\u201325<\/strong> residing in the EU who are already active in artistic and\/or activist communities, who use (or wish to use) creativity as part of their political or ecological engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We aim for a balanced and diverse group<\/strong>, with a strong representation of participants living in Italy and Sicily \u2013 including some based in Palermo \u2013 while also welcoming a significant number of young people from across the rest of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also welcome participation from local groups<\/strong>, and we will create bridges between incoming participants and the workshops\/activities of the Palermo-based festival Earth Day Med<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2728 What the residency is about<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Training young artists and activists in the principles of artivism <\/strong>to help them form a group, explore core practices, understand political & ecological contexts, and prepare to develop their own actions once they return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what is Artivism<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artivism is the intentional use of creative practices for political and social action.
It combines creativity, strategy, symbolism, and collective intelligence to influence culture, challenge power structures, and make democratic struggles visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the residency, participants will explore these principles through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
