How can we indeed\u00a0speak about democracy when power is increasingly concentrated\u00a0in the hands of institutions unaccountable to citizens, such as the\u00a0European Central Bank, behind austerity policies affecting millions in\u00a0Europe, or in corporations powerful enough to impose what is in their\u00a0interest, in disregard of democratic decisions?<\/p>\n<p>Unlike these top-down power relations, many initiatives and struggles\u00a0start from the local level, experiment with new forms of decisionmaking\u00a0processes, are horizontal, inclusive and self-organised. From\u00a0resistance against undemocratic powers to organisational experiments,\u00a0they put in practice real democracy in Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Read <a
