What came out of this discussion was that: &#8220;People wanted to go back to what really mattered \u2013 like valuing where we live and what we make.<\/p>\n<p><strong>People wanted to explore ways to value the places we live in<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 whether it\u2019s encouraging people to recycle, grow community gardens, replant playgrounds or host craft markets. Could food could be at the heart of linking up people from different cultures and cities in Europe?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Should we teach children to fix and make things rather than spend to buy?&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s amazing to see how the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/16aAJpN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teenage Market<\/a>\u00a0has developed, helping provide a platform to teenagers wanting to show, share and sell their crafts, proof that they&#8217;re not just watching TV or glued to their BBMs all day!<\/p>\n<p>We reckon this would be a great way to meet\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1epL1rN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@openideo<\/a>\u00a0brief on &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/16Fe1aj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how might we inspire young people to cultivate their creative confidence<\/a>&#8221; through making! That&#8217;s why we&#8217;re chuffed to be hosting our venue at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/18zf660\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@makerversity<\/a>\u00a0in Somerset House!<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/74731545\" height=\"281\" width=\"500\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/74731545\">Introducing OpenIDEO&#8217;s Creative Confidence Challenge<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/ideo\">IDEO<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The market is part of our everyday reality, but how often do we reflect on what we think, feel, do, say,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/uvQNVU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">see<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/uMdLNQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hear<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ulIoAz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0taste<\/a>\u00a0or buy here? What does this space really mean to us?<\/p>\n<p>We developed a treasure hunt around markets to discover how we\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/vt4577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">experience a space like a market<\/a>.\u00a0What also came out of this is our new project looking at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit\/lymakingaliving\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">how young people cope creatively with trying to make a living<\/a>.
