The communications campaign of Transeuropa Assemblies involved 5 expert videos, an artistic competition and two online public assemblies to draw attention and promote discussion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five expert videos were made with Virginia Fiume and Marco Cappato on end of life rights, with Lydia Makowska on abortion and gender related rights, and with Georg Blokus on rights and work and with Niccolo Milanese and Ophelie Masson on solidarity and women\u2019s rights. These videos were produced early in the project which meant they could be shared on an ongoing basis through youtube, through social media and on project websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final months of the project an artistic competition to illustrate the main recommendations of the project was launched through the social media of the partners and in newsletters. This competition received entries from throughout Europe, a jury from the project partners made a selection, and the winning illustrator was invited to the final assembly of the project in Marseille and received a small cash prize. The illustrations were used extensively on social media and in press relations.<\/p>\n\n\n

Power to the People<\/h4>\n\n\n

Power to the People was a series of transnational online webinars that create a space for participants to join and interact with invited speakers and each other in multiple languages. Live simultaneous interpretation in German, French, Italian and English, as well as the ability to enable automatic subtitle translations into over 20 languages, provided a space of connection for citizens across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Power to the People group we held assemblies on key topical events relevant to ordinary citizens. Our assemblies explored issues such as the cost of living crisis and climate fatigue, gathering hundreds of participants from across the continent. This experiment pioneers a new type of democratic engagement, providing possible exemples for how transnational citizen\u2019s assemblies could be developed into a permanent feature of the European Union\u2019s democratic structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
