Time to put an end to the general anxiety and powerlessness, time to do something.<\/b><\/h3>\n

Have you seen anyone around you step up to solve inequality, combat unfair treatment, and help those in need \u2013 even at the smallest scale? Is there anyone you would like to see take a larger role in society? <\/span>
\n<\/span>Better yet: would you like to take on that challenge yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n

If your answer to any of these questions is YES, send them to the YMCA. That\u2019s what it\u2019s for.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the YMCA?<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n
The YMCA (<\/span>Youth Movement & Campaign Accelerator<\/span><\/a>) is EA\u2019s youth education program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It aims to increase the engagement of young people and their communities in constructing European democracy by creating <\/span>a Europe-wide network of like-minded, self-improving individuals.<\/b><\/p>\n

In this programme, 25 participants will learn and practice techniques to <\/span>activate their local communities, to articulate their issues and demands, and to move people around them to take collective action<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concretely:<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Online learning<\/b><\/p>\n

Collective, interactive training sessions; quizzes, access to YMCA resources & library\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading circle & discussions around social movement documentation (theory, testimonies\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n

Individual mentoring & workshops to plan actions, help each other overcome problems<\/span><\/td>\n

Offline networking<\/b><\/p>\n

Actions led on the ground by participants themselves – it\u2019s up to you to take a leap of faith and get the people around you out of their comfort zone.<\/span><\/p>\n

In-person workshops and attendance to important events ahead of the 2024 European Parliament elections*<\/span><\/p>\n

Local actions<\/b><\/p>\n

Putting into practice things they learnt, participants in each country will organise one activity among the following<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Artistic intervention<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Content publication (article, podcast episode)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Training on mobilization techniques in their community\/network<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Citizen-led assembly to uncover the most pressing issues and plan a local campaign<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Campaigning & advocacy to decision-makers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n
Movement management & community building<\/b><\/p>\n

Building communities behind issues \u2013 including the human relations aspect: trust-building, conflict management, solidarity, overcoming fear & anxiety<\/span><\/p>\n

Join a Europe-wide network of activists & establish forms of cooperation with them<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Who can nominate someone to join the YMCA?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Anyone; it can be individuals or organisations. We will ask you about this person and why you think they would be a great local organiser. <\/span>
\n<\/span>We will contact them on 22nd November to get to know them a little better.<\/span><\/p>\n

Can I apply myself?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Absolutely. Take note that we\u2019ll review all applications based on the same criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n
