Deadline to apply is December 1st.<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/euroalter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Call-for-board-members-2017.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-14392 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/euroalter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Call-for-board-members-2017.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 804px) 100vw, 804px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/euroalter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Call-for-board-members-2017.png 750w, https:\/\/euroalter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Call-for-board-members-2017-300x120.png 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"804\" height=\"322\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These two new board members will be elected for a two-year term (renewable). Last year\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/euroalter.com\/2016\/new-members-board\">Rasha Shabaan and Rui Tavares were elected for two years<\/a>. Their term comes to an end in one year, at which point there will be new elections for two new board members.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/euroalter.com\/who-we-are\/our-organisation\/governance-participation\/board-of-trustees\">board of European Alternatives<\/a>\u00a0is composed of up to eight trustees and four observers. Four board members are directly elected by members of European Alternatives, and up to four are co-opted by the board to represent member organisations or bring additional capacities and skills to the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Catherine Fieschi, Srecko Horvat and Tony Venables are stepping down from the board of current trustees having completed their mandates.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0roles of the board members<\/strong>\u00a0are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To attend three to four weekend meetings each year, and to dedicate an hour or two each week to European Alternatives keeping themselves up to date on activities and contributing to ongoing work;<\/li>\n<li>To guide the strategy of European Alternatives ensuring it continues to work towards more democracy, equality and culture beyond the nation state;<\/li>\n<li>To establish and maintain key partnerships and alliances, including fundraising;<\/li>\n<li>To speak or write on behalf of the organisation;<\/li>\n<li>To guarantee the legal compliance of European Alternatives and responsible use of funds and the accountability and good governance of the organisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Electronic applications should be submitted no later than\u00a0<strong>Friday, December 1st, at midnight (CET)<\/strong>\u00a0by sending an e-mail to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:m.pairet@euroalter.com\">m.pairet@euroalter.com<\/a>\u00a0and include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>short video presentation<\/strong>\u00a0(maximum of 3 minutes, sent by WeTransfer or another file transfer service), stating your experience, addressing members of European Alternatives and indicating the areas in which you would particularly like to contribute to the work of the Board.
