Tomorrow TalkReal attends Cosmopolitica – si parte per cambiare l’Italia in Rome (Italy) some days after the launch of Diem25 – Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 in the Palazzo dei Congressi – Piazza John Fitzgerald Kennedy. A new episode coming soon with Valentina Orazioni (FIOM-CGIL), Alessandro Gilioli (L’Espresso), Tommaso Fattori (SI – Toscana a Sinistra), Lorenzo Zamponi (ACT!) and Tommaso Visone (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna). Lorenzo Marsili will represent European Alternatives and led the discussion during the episode. This time, the episode is open to the public (access and exit is not allowed once started filming).
Why we attend Cosmopolitica?
Starting Friday 19th the idea is to organise a three days assembly and begin the process of forming a new left-wing political force with collective campaigns, initiatives, and ideas to change Italy and Europe. The event begins today with a discussion between people active in political parties, movements, associations, and institutions, addressed to the many Italian citizens who are willing to commit to change their country.
A few days after the launch of Diem by Yanis Varoufakis and on the same weekend of the conference “Plan B” in Madrid, we talk about what role we want to imagine in Europe for a new left-wing party. Rebuilding power for change ultimately means rebuilding ambition and innovating political practices. Beyond sterile arguments over the benefits of an independent nation-state or of a united Europe, what we should really be talking about is how to organise to transform both. This weekend in Rome, we image a new Left, and maybe new Europe.
